Things change, an amazing fact of life.
Fiery Tea initially started out as a portal for my further developments for the ExpressionEngine platform and anything else I might create in my free time. As the months moseyed on, more and more of my ExpressionEngine development was done privately and in collaboration with
Solspace, Inc. With their encouragement and assistance I developed the Fiery Tea - Expansion to help solve many of the difficulties with building Add-Ons in ExpressionEngine 1.x, while still being able to easily port them to ExpressionEngine 2.0.
The point came last month when Mitchell and I were in discussions about future work plans, and it was quite obvious that it was simply time for me to join Solspace as a team member, instead of just a friend and collaborator. So, as of August 1st, I have joined Solspace, Inc. as their
Lead Developer and Chief Doom Officer (CDO). Doom!!
Effective from the beginning of August, all of the ExpressionEngine related code that Fiery Tea has built this past year is now owned by Solspace, Inc. and will be completely distributed and supported through the Solspace
website. Fiery Tea - Expansion has now been converted into the
Hermes Expansion (available now) and the Solspace UI module (scheduled for release in the next week). The Hermes expansion, unlike the Fiery Tea - Expansion, is now fully documented and will be supported by Solspace in the forums. Two very powerful points in its favor. And, we will definitely be improving it greatly over the next couple years as we use it ourselves for both EE 1.x and EE 2.x work.
And so, Fiery Tea will continue to exist, but more as my playground for non-Solspace coding projects rather than a commercial entity selling software. We'll see if I come up with anything interesting, you know, if I have time...
